Open Access Policy
TheScientificWorld's Open Choice Alternative
TheScientificWorldJOURNAL and other TSW Journals have adopted a policy that gives authors a choice:
- A choice for free publication. Authors, whose research grants or institutions cannot support Open Access article fees, will continue to be able to submit their work for peer-review and publication at no charge. These articles are available through subscriptions and licenses to laboratories, departments, institutes and campuses, as well as individually through article delivery.
- A choice to publish articles with open access. Authors are required to pay an Article Fee to cover partially the costs associated with administering peer-review, copy-editing and article production, distribution and indexing. The full text of these articles are made available to all users of TheScientificWorld's website.
Whichever publication route is chosen, the application of TheScientificWorld's scientific standards is equally rigorous; to guarantee impartiality, referees will have no knowledge of the author's publication choice during peer-review.
Benefits of TSW's Open Access Policy
- Articles published are made available on an Open Access basis through TheScientificWorld's website.
- ALL visitors have access to the full text of the article, and may download a PDF version for their personal and non-commercial use. TSW Open Access papers are more widely read than other papers.
- Open Access is available on all article types, including review articles, research articles and protocol articles.
- Articles published with Open Access are flagged in Tables of Contents with an icon.
- Citations and abstracts of Open Access articles will be made available to emerging indexes of open access articles, as well as current abstracting and indexing services and other services.
- By balancing partial payment of costs through Open Access and continued access to other articles through licenses and subscriptions, TheScientificWorld is aiming to keep all prices lower.
- Institutions may take out an Open Access Waiver on behalf of their researchers to reduce costs. Affiliated researchers can publish unlimited numbers of articles within TheScientificWorld's journals for highly cost-effective open access publishing.
How to Publish Your Article with Open Access
All authors of TheScientificWorld's journals will be given the option to publish with open access through this policy. Authors are requested to notify us in advance if they wish to publish with open access. Invoices will be issued upon acceptance of an article for publication. If authors do not request open acccess, then those articles will only be available through subscription, license or by single article purchase.
Authors of all other publications of TheScientificWorld, including eBooks, may also opt for TSW's Open Access author services.
Open Access Waiver
Institutions may take out an Open Access Waiver on behalf of their researchers. This entitles researchers at subscribing institutes to publish unlimited numbers of open access articles within TheScientificWorldJOURNAL. Please contact our staff for pricing information.
