These are objective reports that review the state of science on specific topics. Mini-reviews are shorter more in-depth articles of around 10-20 pages, while full reviews provide a broader overview of the field and are usually over 20 pages. We also welcome reviews on scientific methods. Updates of previously published reviews will also be considered.

Directions in Science articles are short, non-technical articles that place recently reported hot research in a wider context to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange of ideas. The articles explain the published results, where they fit in relation to historical work in the field, future questions to be addressed, and what the current results imply for the field and the world at large. Directions in Science pieces can be written by the paper's original author or by another scientist in the field.
